Son of former Herat provincial council member killed a few meters from Taliban police headquarters

Sources in Herat confirm that Noman, the son of Abdul Rahman Moradi, a former member of the Herat Provincial Council, was killed a few meters from the security headquarters on Monday, August 9.

The Taliban have been killed by gunfire in this province.

According to sources, Noman had gone to the Taliban's security headquarters in Herat to pursue his case, and after leaving the building, he was shot by armed men and died.

The motive for the murder and the identity of the perpetrators have not been clarified.

Noman had previously been arrested, along with his mother, on charges of involvement in his father's murder, but sources say he was acquitted of this charge.

Abdolrahman Moradi, former member of the council

The provincial governor of Herat was killed on January 11, 1403, in his home on 64-meter road, in the fifth district of Herat city.

Initially, the cause of his death was announced as "an accidental gunshot while cleaning his gun," but the Taliban later arrested his wife and son on murder charges.

Abdul Rahman Moradi's wife was also shot and killed on 26 October 1404, after the end of the Taliban appeals court session, in the court premises.

Sources at the time said that the woman had been acquitted by a Taliban court and had been released after

Azadi was killed by Abdolrahman Moradi's brother.

Before she was killed, the woman had said that Abdolrahman Moradi had committed suicide and was under pressure from her father.

Abdolrahman Moradi's father, Shir Ahmad Khan Alizai, known as "Lord of Shiro", was from

Local Taliban officials in Herat have not yet commented on Noman's murder and how the incident occurred.
