The Afghan Women’s Voice Movement has stated that education is a fundamental human right and that denying women and girls access to education constitutes a clear violation of human rights and undermines Afghanistan’s future.
In a statement released on Sunday, the movement announced that it had launched a series of visual designs to express solidarity with millions of Afghan women and girls who have been deprived of their right to education.
The statement emphasized that education is the foundation of development, justice, and lasting peace, warning that preventing girls from attending school poses a serious threat to the country’s future.
The movement stressed that no society can achieve genuine progress and stability while half of its population is denied access to education.
It also called on national and international institutions, as well as human rights advocates, to take practical and effective measures to reopen schools and universities for girls.
Reaffirming that education, work, and freedom are fundamental rights of women, the Afghan Women’s Voice Movement pledged to continue its advocacy efforts until these rights are fully realized.
